Best Acid House of 2022 🥇 - Part One

Including tunes from Paranoid London, Big Miz & Prom Night

Welcome to the CTRL Z Newsletter, companion to the radio show and event series of the same name. Things are getting serious this week as we wrap up the year. You'll have to imagine my serious face.

In the newsletter this week, we have part one of the tunes of 2022 from:

  • Big Miz

  • Paranoid London

  • Prom Night

Big Miz - Club Beat 3

Glasgow's Big Miz samples Tronco Traxx - Walk 4 Me on this one released as part of his Flashbang EP back in Feburary. It shares the sample with another favourite of mine, Boddika & Joy Orbison - Swims, which was often played with this on the radio show.

Paranoid London - Suck A Dick

This one already felt like a classic after hearing it in Paranoid London sets for years, so it was great to see that the sample had been cleared and it was finally able to be cut to wax in 2022.

Paranoid London add their own signature acid line to the original DJ Milton sample, to which Mutado Pintado builds the perfect call and response vocal.

Prom Night & Brynjolfur - FreakFunk (Hot Mix)

It's all in the name for this one, super funky tune from early in the year and one of the most played tunes on the radio show this year.
