The Haçienda takes over The Beams in East London this Saturday 29th October with a massive lineup featuring many legends of the Acid House scene including 808 State, DJ Pierre, Jon DaSilva, Justin Robertson & Graeme Park amongst others.

Record of the Week

Paranoid London - Suck A Dick [Paranoid London Records]

This one already feels like a classic after hearing it in Paranoid London sets for years, so it was great to see that the sample has been cleared and it's finally able to be cut to wax.

Paranoid London add their own signature acid line to the original DJ Milton sample, to which Mutado Pintado builds the perfect call and response vocal.

Emilio Pasquez - Do It Again Emilio [WEA]

I'm not sure the A side of this one, "Sounds From The Pink Sandbox", has aged all that well, what with the samples of the 60s Batman series. However, the B side, "Do It Again Emilio", strips all that back and turns up the resonance knob, resulting in an overlooked classic that still sounds great on the dancefloor almost three and a half decades later.

It's all in the name for this one, super funky tune from a couple of months back and one of the standout tunes of 2022 for me.
